Mantaray — A boat that flies over the water. A brand that moves with it.
Mantaray builds hydrofoil boats around DWT, a fully mechanical, self-stabilising foiling system that is patented on key markets. The boat rises up and flies above the surface. The feeling is calm, not aggressive, more in tune with the sea than pushing through it. That feeling became the spine of the identity: by the rules of the ocean. Not a tagline bolted on afterwards, but the thing the whole brand had to feel like.
We took total ownership and worked every channel. Identity, tone, web, and UX/UI, all carrying one idea.
We also designed the boat's own screen interface, a part of boating that still lags behind the rest of the craft. I made it as simple and logical as possible, without losing the visual care the rest of the boat has. The brand, all the way to the moment of use.
The identity carried Mantaray through two closed investment rounds and its expansion into a system developer for commercial, defence, and OEM partners. DWT was chosen by the Swedish Sea Rescue Society for an emission-free rescue vessel, and the boat was nominated for Foiling Motor Boat of the Year at Foiling Week in Genoa.

We use a playful line to symbolise Mantaray's pure driving joy and to break up the otherwise simple and quite strict nordic feel design system.
